quotes
Hailed a virtuoso of both technical and emotional power American pianist and recording artist Christopher Finkelmeyer made his professional debut in the Rachmaninoff Concerto #2 with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra while still a student at Northwestern University under Donald Isaak.

Under the auspices of the Korwin Foundation he represented the United States in the International Busoni Competition, and continued his studies at Vienna’s famed Hochschule für Musik under noted scholar/pianist Paul Badura-Skoda. Other teachers included Adele Marcus at the Juilliard School, and America’s elder statesman of the piano, Earl Wild, who named him “one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation”.

“Why not have fun at
a classical recital?”

—Christopher Finkelmeyer

In performances ranging from local concert halls in Europe to remote towns in Mexico; Carnegie Hall to the Arizona Sundome; the Ravinia Festival to the Chautauqua Institution; Finkelmeyer gained an ability to relate to audiences in a unique way. After a two-year stint as Music Director of a New York opera company, he pioneered a highly-effective “audience-friendly”, “audience-building” program style called “Unstuffed”, providing people of all ages and backgrounds access to the joys of classical music.

The success of his break-through programming led to the creation of his first solo cd, Passionately Unstuffed. Number one in his eight part “Un” series, Passionately Unstuffed was soon followed by Unspoken and most recently by Unforgotten Christmas all of which are available on amazon.com.

Finkelmeyer’s recordings have been heard on TV, in film, and on classical radio stations across the country.
